The inauguration and swearing-in of the 8th batch intern doctors of Ad-Din Women’s Medical College Hospital were held on Sunday. The interns were greeted with flowers at the Professor Ibrahim Lecture Theater of Ad-Din Women’s Medical College. At this time, the interns read the oath in front of the professor of the Department of Pediatrics Mahmuda Hasan.
Ad-Din Foundation Advisor and Director of Ad-Din Welfare Center Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdus Sabur presided over the program and the chief guest was Ad-Din Foundation Executive Director Dr. Sheikh Mohiuddin. Director of Ad-Din Foundation and Executive Director of Ad-Din Pharmaceuticals Professor Jamalunnesa, Principal Professor of Ad-Din Women’s Medical College Dr. Afikur Rahman, Advisor of Ad-Din Women’s Medical College Anwar Hossain Munshi attended the program. The head of the Department of Surgery Professor Sardar Md Rezaul Islam, the Head Professor of Gynecology Shamsun Nahar, Professor of Medicine Khairul Imam, Professor of Pediatrics ARM Lutful Kabir, and others spoke before the interns. Medical College Vice-Principal Professor Ashraf-Uzzaman and other teachers-students, and officers-employees were present.
In the beginning, the Director General of Ad-Din Hospitals, Professor Dr. Nahid Yasmin gave detailed directions about the introduction of intern doctors, the provision of log books, and rules and regulations. She said Ad-Din Hospital is one of the busiest hospitals. Here all kinds of patients come to take care of. Therefore, she called for gaining an internship at Ad-Din Hospital.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdus Sabur said, “Your responsibilities as
an intern doctor has multiplied after completing your academic studies. You will fulfill your responsibilities properly. ”
He added, “Hospital is the second home of doctors. Those who spend more time in the hospital will learn more. We have to work in coordination with senior doctors and nurses. ”
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Ad-Din Foundation Executive Director Dr Sheikh Mohiuddin said, “God is pleased with good deeds. Doctors have the greatest opportunity to do better by serving patients. So every moment has to be spent on good deeds. ” He called for being a good doctor as well as a good person.
Speaking as the special guest, Professor Jamalunnesa said, “We have to work with the mentality of service. Serve the patient with sincerity. We have to keep an eye on the patients so that they are not dissatisfied with their words and deeds. ”
